Before you run it

  1. 01Open the prompt and copy the whole thing. Paste it into Claude, ChatGPT, or Gemini as your first message.
  2. 02Answer the jurisdiction question. It asks before it says a word about your statutes, and skipping it gets you another state’s diversionary programs and lookback periods.
  3. 03Paste the entire report underneath, not the pages you think matter. The timeline it builds is the point, and the conflicts it finds usually sit between two pages nobody reads together.

What comes back

  • One timeline of every timestamp in the document, in 12 and 24 hour format, with gaps and conflicts flagged
  • Each charge broken into its elements and mapped to the evidence the State would use to prove it
  • A suppression and dismissal table: the issue, the motion type, the triggering facts, the authority, and a candid read on likelihood
  • Chain of custody gaps, missing discovery, and a priority list of what to request
  • Officer conclusions separated from observed fact, with the subjective language called out
  • Sentencing exposure and a collateral consequences checklist covering immigration, licensing, firearms, and housing

Read this part before you file anything

The prompt opens by telling the model not to hallucinate and to verify every fact, law, and citation. That instruction reduces the problem. It does not remove it. Check every case and statute it gives you against the actual reporter before it goes near a brief. Lawyers have been sanctioned for skipping that step, and no prompt makes you the exception. Treat the output as a fast second read by a very thorough associate who has never been to your courthouse.
